The back story: I hardly go shopping on Black Friday*, because, well, I don't think it's worth braving, and, sometimes, staring down hordes of people. (Apparently, a woman in California even had the bright idea to pepper-spray other bargain-hunters.) However, a cousin was in town this holiday weekend, and we were showing him and his wife around town. At a local mall, I happened upon this handsome, navy and gray Gap jacket that fit to freaking perfection, as if it was cut only and only for me. Unfortunately, it was still a bit too expensive after discounts, so I hesitated. The moment I let it go, I knew I was going to regret it. In an instant, a slight Korean or Japanese dude grabbed it from the rack. I should have known: I saw him watch me try it on. Hence, the silent outburst. I was right though--there was no way he could fill that jacket out. He looked disappointed. I was like, Dude, no way. Just because you can afford it doesn't mean it will look good on you. Let. me. have. it. Hi hi. He went ahead and bought it anyway. I almost cried. Hi hi. Now, I cannot find it online. Argh.
*Black Friday is the Friday after Thanksgiving Day, on which retailers offer deep discounts to jump start the annual holiday shopping season.
